Letter from the Chapter
Congratulations on being accepted to the Colorado School of Mines! As the representatives for Sigma Kappa in 2020 Formal Recruitment, we would personally like to welcome you to Golden, Colorado. We speak on behalf of the entire chapter when we say we are so excited to meet you this fall! During recruitment, you will be guided by the lovely Recruitment Counselors (RCs), who are there to help you make a decision and guide your learning about sorority life.
Feel free to look through our website here to learn more about what it means to be a Sigma Kappa. We are founded on the values of friendship, personal growth, service, and loyalty. Each day, we strive to live out those values. Sigma Kappas work hard to uphold their stellar GPA while enjoying many fun events with their sisters! We hope that you will go through recruitment and witness our amazing sisterhood bond first-hand. We cannot wait to show you all that Sigma Kappa has to offer!
Sigma Kappa recognizes that this is an exciting time in your life and you will be encountering all kinds of new people and experiencing so many new things. We highly encourage you to go through recruitment even if you are unsure about sorority life. Mines is a difficult and challenging school, but we can attest that Sigma Kappa has improved our experience here. We have been given countless opportunities for leadership and growth, and have created friendships that will last a lifetime. Hopefully you will witness this yourself during recruitment, and find your 'home away from home' at Mines.
We know that the world is in a state of flux and we firmly believe that our sisterhood and chapter is as strong as ever. We need each other and continue to support each other even if it hasn't been in person over the last few months. We look forward to meeting you and showing you the magic of Sigma Kappa at this year's recruitment events even if its over zoom or through social media! Again, congratulations on your decision to attend Mines and see you during Formal Recruitment!
Lots of Dove Love,
Taylor Anderson, Vice President of Membership
